Kilts and Bagpipes and Haggis*, Oh My

The tartan above is based on one of the tartans identified with the Frazier clan. Historically, tartans had more to do with where you lived rather than which clan you were part of. The attachment of particular tartans to particular clans was more of an english invention than a scottish one. But I like it anyway. The emblem below it is a clan badge of the Frasers of Lovat

I have been involved with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) for about 4 years now. The SCA is a historic recreation group that recreates the middle ages 'as it should have been'. In other words, no one get burned at the stake, and no plagues.

This is me in my kilt. Not for the faint-hearted.

In the SCA I am known as Conal McDraig, a 15th century highland scot. In order to be a good scot I made myself a claidhmor, a traditonal scottish sword. Check out the links below. There are also some other pictures here. Some of them are from the 30 yr celebration for the SCA, held in Vancouver, WA, in June, 1996. Others are ones of items I use in my garb, or have made for other gentle's garb.

I readily admit I am not the greatest photographer (or model)

The SCA is divided up into kingdoms, which can be found all over the world. I used to live in the kingdom of An Tir, one of the oldest kingdoms. I now live in the West, the original kingdom.
