There was believed to have been one built Frank Lloyd Wright
project in Colorado, but recent research and exploration by William
Allin Storrer has revealed that it was never built.
Horseshoe Inn, (S.143) Estes Park, Colorado,
1908.

Formerly believed to have been built and long since demolished,
it is now known, thanks to William Allin Storrer, that Wright's design
for this project was never built. The site of the long since
demolished actual Horseshoe Inn (again, not designed by Wright) is now
part of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Other buildings of interest:
- The Stanley
Hotel. Located in Estes Park, the location of
the planned Horseshoe
Inn project mentioned above.
The Stanley is an inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in
Stephen
King's "The Shining". The recent "Shining" TV miniseries was
filmed at the
Stanley. Architecturally and otherwise, the Stanley has nothing to do
with Frank Lloyd Wright.
- Two of the visitor's centers at Rocky Mountain National Park are
Wright inspired. This park is just west of the town of Estes Park,
location for the unbuilt Wright "Horseshoe Inn" project and the unrelated Stanley
Hotel.
