It was late at night, and my little sister Erica and I were waiting in the courtyard of the Harper-Schramm-Smith residential complex at UNL. In a few minutes, the latest whipping contest would begin. After a few minutes, in the doorway of each building, we could see the silhouette of each fighter. They each stepped out from their respective doorways and walked towards the center of the courtyard. A signal was given, and the three contestants began whipping each other. One man's armed was whipped off; another person lost his hand. After several minutes, all three of the contestants had fallen. Several cloaked figures ran out of the shadows and carried the bodies away. Erica and I wondered where the bodies were taken after the competition. We decided to investigate.
We had a hunch that the bodies were kept in a trailer house that had been sitting in our yard. Erica and I went in the trailer and started looking around, but we found no sign of dead people. We decided we were going to give up on the trailer house and leave. As we were leaving, I walked by a bar-thing and saw a drop of blood splatter on the counter top. We looked up, and stuffed behind the ceiling panels were the bodies. We knew we needed to tell someone, but we didn't know who. As we got to the door to leave, Priscilla Presley started to walk towards the trailer. We started to panic, because if she found us we would be in big trouble!
Luckily my friend Brian Wolf drove up in an army jeep, and before she opened the door, he yelled "Hey Priscilla, wanna ride in an army jeep?" She did, so he got out and gave her the keys and she drove off. Brian came up to the door and said "Come with me." We followed him, and I asked him where he was taking us. He told us just to follow.
We got to where we were going. It was a bookstore, and he was freaking out because there was a huge sale. I stayed for a while, but the alarm on my watch went off--I had to leave to go get a blood test.
I got to the health center and asked how to get to the lab. They told me to go upstairs and that I couldn't miss it. I went to the stairwell and started going up, but as I went farther the ceiling got lower. By the time I got to the second floor, I was completely hunched over and the stairs ended and led right into a seat. I crawled into the chair (which had about as much space as the back seat of a super-compact car) and waited for the doctor to come draw my blood. After sitting there for a while, I noticed the sign that said the lab was not open on Fridays. I had been sitting there for nothing. I was pretty frustrated and I had no reason to be there, so I left.
I went down to a local fast food restaurant and ordered a drink. When the clerk got done making it, I realized that I didn't have any money. I told her I'd be right back because I had to go get some money from my car. I stepped outside and saw some picnic tables, but beyond those was some water. I didn't understand it--I thought I was in a restaurant. But then I realized that the restaurant was on a boat. So I had to jump in the water and swim to the shore. I got out and opened the car door and grabbed some change out of my ash tray. I stuffed it in my pocket and jumped back in the water. I climbed back up onto the boat and sat at one of the picnic tables to count how much change I had. I pulled out the contents of my pocket and I had two huge silver dollars. I didn't know how much they were worth. The guy across the table from me asked me how old they were. I told him that one was from 1968 and the other from 1985. He looked puzzled, and then told me the one sure way to determine how much they were worth: I needed a six foot long piece of aluminum foil spread out on a gravel surface. Then I was to take both coins and roll them down the foil strip. I did, and then I brought the foil back to him. He said "Yep, those are coins all right." I sighed, because I thought he was actually going to tell me something important. Then something caught my attention--out of the corner of my eye I saw some movement in the water. A hippo stuck his head up out of the lake! I was shocked. I asked the guy across the table why there was a hippo in the water. He told me that there were lots of animals in there, so seeing a hippo was no big deal. I looked into the water, and saw tons of strange animals in there, including some snake boy things. They had the upper body of young boys, but their lower body was like a snake tail and they were green. I turned to go back into the restaurant to pay the clerk, but there was water in between the picnic tables and the door. That meant I was going to have to swim over there through the snake-boy infested waters. I took a deep breath and then dove into the water. As I swam, I could feel the snake-boys wrapping around my legs and it was _so_ disgusting but I had to keep going. Finally I got to the store boat and pulled myself out of the water as quickly as I could. I went in and handed the clerk my money, and she said "Oh, don't worry about it. This one's on the house!"
