Perhaps the most famous example of
Andean Music
is the 18th Century Peruvian folk melody El Condor Pasa
by Daniel A. Robles.
This style of folk music with its roots in pre-Inca civilisation
gives us an idea of how could the music sound 5,000 years ago.
One can even imagine how did it sound when 120 musicians played
panpipes simultaneously during the festivities of the Incas.
PACHAKUTI is a group of Andean musicians from Peru based in Munich. The musicians are willing to share sounds of their music to the people around the world. Find here linkes to some audio files with samples of their music.
Our web site first appeared in May 1996.
As much as we know this is the first homepage of Andean
folk musicians living and performing in Europe.
Please tell us
if you know more pages! Chilean group
Inti-Illimani resided
in Europe before 1988, but their web pages appeared probably
in the end of 1996. We were already informed about the following
web sites :
Find here some photos of different
groups of Andean musicians performing in several European cities.
Send us
more photos and comments you want to appear on these pages.
