Join The Jolly Hunt

Hard wrought, this happy work.
Hear the magic in the muse's hand.
Greenly grows the flowered forest.
Quite commerce runs the black town.
White light washes peaceful plains.
Restful rivers to blue seas run.
Follow now, friends, to mountain far.
Summon the red boar, sound the wild horn.

The war is won! Rest and revel
Must be had. For many a morning
Battle-brothers bashed their broad swords
Ringing resoundingly on brother-belligerents.
The joyful the jangle of helms and harness,
The clash and crash, destrier's dance,
Echo in minds and memories of men
Happy to have now a high sport.

Hear the horn-sound, wily woodbeast.
Join the jolly hunt. Joust with men.
Revel with warriors ready for testing.
Dance with dachshund and mastiff hound.
Make thee merrier with tiny terrier.
Might you dare to man's flesh tear with
Terrible tuskers, your truffle huskers,
Boar-spear and boar-sword are ready to receive.
A tilting test is tendered at both ends.

Tardy pig, tarry not. Bore us no longer.
Come to our court. Council our king.
Highseat at hand, head table your trencher.
