Here & There
In jagged lines
On the hard cement
I see myself
Pulsating
Alternating between personalities
Like a training wheel on my first bike
I circle
Trying hard to keep the balance
Of something I know will eventually fall
In a warm pool
Of water
Glistering colors of oil
Rising from the hot asphalt
I lose my self
In it’s hypnotic glow
I'm the baby seal
that's just been clubbed to death
for it's fur
Ice incrusted emeralds
Hidden deep within eyes of steel
I am there
I stare at a Christmas tree
That vanished decades ago
I remember loving laughter
The lights twinkle
I blink my eyes
My tears taste salty
And sweet
Sheer stockings
On young girls
An old man sitting
All alone
Drinking vodka
Staring up at snowflakes
Falling down
Where am I?
How did I get here?
Sometimes it seems like I’m nowhere
Other times
It’s like
I’m here
There and everywhere
