Reality
Nothing here is as it seems
and we are not what we appear to be
Lost in a maze
we don't even conceive
Each with our own
interpretation of reality
And the stranger outside
is just the stranger in me
Endlessly searching the abyss
of eternity
You keep telling me
That I don’t understand
While you paint by numbers
In your private hell
Don’t you know, Honey
We all make our own jails?
You moan and groan
About the burden of your cross
Never even considering the possibility
that it might you who’s lost
I know we all must deal
With our own misery
But you can’t put out fires
by using gasoline
I have my own issues
Pointless anger and shame
The difference is
I never claimed
There’s someone else to blame
I do love you, Baby
With all my heart
But I can’t live reality
Like it’s just abstract art
