Frank Bevier: Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism
Beach Huts at Hunstanton.
5" x 7". Tempera on Board. 1990.
This is one of a series of paintings and drawings of the huts at Old
Hunstanton. These are wooden huts which sit actually on the sand in front
of the sand dunes on the beach at Old Hunstanton. They are used as changing
rooms, for making tea, and for getting out of the cold winds which
frequently blow in from the North Sea.
Saguaro Cactus.
9 1/2" x 7 1/2". Pastel and colored pencil on Paper. 1991.
This is one of a series of desert drawings and paintings I completed after a
trip to Tucson and Sedona, Arizona, in 1991.
Still Life. 9" x 11". Tempera and Collage on Wood. 1991.
I amuse myself by making these small paintings on wood, using scraps of
paper, cardboard and tempera. This is one of the plants I had in my
little studio on Horatio Street in Greenwich Village,
including the rattan container the plant was in.
