Important dates in Beer history:

January 10th, 1935: Beer in cans is first sold to the public in Richmond, Virginia, USA by the Kreuger Brewing Co. of New Jersey.

Jauuary 21st, 1949: Derailment of the train known as "The Newcastle Beer" at Woll, north of Hexham.

February 12th, 1945: S.S. Egholm is sunk by a mine on passage from Leith to London with a full cargo of Wm. Younger's beer.
