Phanox, or the Lord of the Night, is the greatest of all of Asmosdee's Dark Lords. Above the others, he alone was entrusted to capture the Earth and plunge it into night eternal. He easily dispatched the planet's protector, Girshalwyn; yet unknown to him, she took the last of her power with some she had stole from him during the fight and combined it with a human. This human of the Meyers family entered Phanox's castle and eventually defeated him--but he was not destroyed.

One-thousand years later, the Lord of the Night had gathered enough strength back to assault the world again. And like before, a human from the Meyers family defeated him. Another thousand years came along with another defeat. However now, the darkness had grown in the hearts of men, and Phanox used this for strength, thus making it only a hundred years from his last appearance. Yet still again, he was defeated.

Although time has almost no meaning to Asmosdee, even he was beginning to wonder what was taking Phanox so long. And through his own ways, he made sure the Lord of the Night would win the next encounter.

And now time has come once again. The fifth Nightwalker prepares to enter his castle, and Phanox knows that this one is not prepared.
