Through the years, the Dark Lord, or Lord of the Night has he came to be known, attempted again to throw the world into eternal darkness so that all creatures of the night might walk the earth openly. Yet each time, a descendant of the human who first defeated the Lord of the Night rose to stop him, and succeeded. These humans, since they were the only ones brave enough to face the horrors in the night brought by the Dark Lord, were called Nightwalkers.
And now, in present day, the task falls to John Meyer, the fifth Nightwalker. With his friends thinking he's crazy, and his grandfather having never been allowed to pass on the knowledge to defeat the Lord of the Night before he died, John reluctantly accepts his fate. Stepping onto the bridge leading to the Lord of the Night's castle, John summons the power he has been given and garbs himself for battle.

And this is where our story begins....
