The 1998
TRANSOC
solo
World Tour
Day One
Cork to Inchigeelagh
No photos - survival was enough
Day two
Inchigeelagh to Ahakista
The scenery becomes more wild
Bantry: Good for food
Which was just as well when we had this to face in the afternoon
But the view from the top was good
Not that Tessa was in a state to notice
At least on the other side there was a nice downhill road
All the way to The Beer Garden at Ahakista
Travelling back from another pub in the back of the van
The Excellent farmhouse B&B at Ahakista
Which had the Atlantic at the bottom of the garden
With a view across to Mt Gabriel...
Day Three
Ahakista to Baltimore
...Which we cycled over the next morning
Before taking the ferry from schull to sherkin island
Which had cows on it
And then we took the ferry to Baltimore
Day Four
A well earned rest in Baltimore
The Old Station At Baltimore
Day Five
Baltimore to CLonakilty
Best bit of the whole week so it is a pity I forgot to take my camera today
Day Six
Clonakilty to Cork
At the end of a long week the artisitic urge took over
We went past the moving statue at Ballinspittle
Where Tessa sought inspiration
Thanks to the people at Irish Cycling Safaris for organising the trip
