'Keeping up with the Boneses': by: Andrew Fuller

For years the idea of Bone animation has been tossed around. With the original possibility of a short, 10 minute flick to the actual idea of being on the big screen.  Everyone I've met who knows about Bone agrees it should be made into a movie.  And with the recent letter from Cartoon Books saying a Bone movie is "very very likely" makes myself among other Boneheads even more anxious.
And then we have the Bone games on the official page (www.boneville.com) and the brand-new hilarious Phoney Bone Macarena on our own beloved Bone Fan Page that give us a closer glimpse of what it would be like.
At the present, I can't see it in my head.  As long as I've known Bone, its all been about being around in scarce amounts at overpriced prices in a small Comic shop hidden behind a Burger King and Bell's furniture.  If I were to walk into to another building on that street and mentioned Bone somebody would either think I'm a cannibal or something or slap my face figure my statement as a perverse one.  That is unfortunate.
The thought of seeing an advertisement of "Bone: The Movie" at my local theatre gives me mixed feelings of joy and bewilderment.  And I wonder, how would the public accept Bone.  What would you think if you got out of  'Snake Eyes' or something and looked on the wall to see a poster with a small, peppy, marshmallowy character.  I'd probably think, "Oh, a kiddy movie."  But Bone is not a "kiddy" comic.  On that note, all the non children's animated movies that I can think of failed at the box office.  But then again I know kids would love Bone.  To an extent Bone resembles a Disney movie.  Even Jeff once said he based Fone, Smiley, and Phoney on Mickey, Goofy, and Donald.  Maybe some restaurant franchise would put out Bone Happy Meals.  An isle full of Bone play sets at your local Toys 'R' Us.  Who knows? I definitely think we should risk it and I have full faith that with Jeff in control they can capture the magic of Bone the comic book in Bone the movie.  Now that I think about it, if they tried to make Bone a kiddy movie, I can see Disney buying it. Yeah.  But maybe they want to approach the project with a PG or PG-13 tone.  Maybe.
What I want to know from you readers is... If Bone was a movie, who would you want to do the voices of what characters.  Any voice you've heard in your entire life.  In real life, TV, movies, radio, anything.  I brought up a list myself of who I think should do the voices.  Here goes...........
Fone Bone -Howie Mandel in his voice for Bobby in 'Bobby's World'
Phoney Bone -The guy who does the voice of Dagget on 'The Angry Beavers'
Smiley Bone -The guy who does the voice of Kevin on 'Daria'
Gran'ma Ben -Betty White of 'Mary Tyler Moore' and 'The Golden Girls'
Thorn -Christina Ricci
Lucious -Jim Cummings in his famous tough guy voice (i. e. The head guard in 'Aladdin' and Pete in 'Goof Troop')
The 2 rat creatures - People with a British accent
The Hooded One -anyone with a scratchy voice
Kingdok -Christopher Walken
Rock Jaw -Jeremy Irons (Scar of 'The Lion King')
