Ok, this site has been up for a good month+ now, it's time
that I let everyone out there in on my reasons for doing this page, now
that I actually know myself.
There are several reasons that I am doing this website. Some are pretty
deep, some not so deep. The not so deep reasons are that some other people
that I knew were doing it, and that it seemed like a fun thing to do.
These reasons are self explanatory, and obvious. The other reasons are
not as self explanatory, and not as obvious.
I have decided that this site is going to have several purposes.
1. To provide me with a place to share my thoughts and writings with
the rest of the world, and in so doing, perhaps make it a slightly
better place. This may sound naive, unrealistic, and idealistic, and
maybe it is. But I don't think so.
2. To promote peace, equality, and freedom, and any other humanistic
good cause in whatever way I can.
This is, partially a subset of 1, but a rather important one. My
important message page is one example of
this, but so is my Democratic Manifesto, in a way.I am
a huge supporter of human rights. This could, potentially, get me in
trouble with some groups, but so be it.
3. To present different viewpoints.
This is a subset of both 1 and 2, but it deserves it's own mention.
In case you couldn't tell, I am not part of the mainstream. I am a bit
odd, by my own admission. My image of myself goes through constant
minor revisions, and where it is leading, I don't really know just yet.
Some people would say I am changing. I prefer to call it "Becoming who I am,"
because that's what really is going on. Some people that know me know
this, but a lot don't, too.
This is also the reason that I decided on the title "Alan's Zone Of Chaos"
for my homepage. I don't know that it will stay the same. Like recently,
I changed all the text on my site from white, to red. I do know that
the backgrounds will remain black. That will be the one constant.
Why?, you may ask. Well, black is my favourite colour. I wear mostly
black, most of the time, all black some of the time, and no black none
of the time. I can't stand blue jeans. Even some half-black half-someother
colour clothes are starting to get on my nerves. At this point you may
be thinking to yourself, "Whoa, this guy sounds really odd!"
Or maybe "Aha! A goth!", if you know what a goth is.
Fine. I admit it. I might be a goth. What's a goth?
I don't know if I am one, I'm not even sure what
that means anymore. I think I'll just stick to being myself.
I'm weird too.
Thanks for reading though.
