Sadly, this Club is defunct. Welcome to the first ever Writer's Bloc Homepage. I, Alan Koxlien, am currently serving in the position of Leader, the only offical position. As of 4/24 we meet every Tuesday night, at 7:30 p.m. in the 3rd floor lobby of Minne Hall, on the campus of Winona State University, located in Winona, MN.

Writer's Bloc is a club for creative writers, focusing on the creation and enjoyment of literature. We usually do a writing exercize at the start of each meeting, and then open the floor to anyone who wants to read his/her work, and receive criticizm, or just share it with the group. I personally write both short stories and poetry. Currently the group includes 6 members, 5 of which are first year students, and then there's me. So the group should have a bright future.

Writer's Bloc started off 4 years ago as a group called Poet's Ink. Then one of the members started writing short fiction, in addition to poetry. After many ballots, the name was changed to Writer's Bloc, and offical club status was attained.

If you would like to see a picture of some past members, myself inculded, click here. This picture was taken in 1995, during Winter Quarter, if I recall. I'm the guy in the lower right-hand corner of the picture. The back row are, from left to right, Jim, a founding member, Nate, Leah, and Tracy.
