Current musical faves spinning in the house (as of 6/13/99)

Chris & Cosey - Twist
Electric Body Music made more Electric and more Body by:
-Ziq, Carl CraigRe:Search, Fred Gianelli,Vapourspace, Coil Vs Elph and more
If this don't make you shake your money maker - nothin will

Miyako Koda - Jupitor
Possibly my Album of the Year for '98 - At least the strongest contender for 3 months running.
Each track produced by different individuals including H Hosono, Peter Scherer, Yasuaki Shimizu, Towa Tei, Gonzales Mikami, Light in darkness
Truly magical, blissfull and minimal all, and the productions are NOT typical of the individuals. I find myself saying this MUST be the Hosono track and then find it is Mikami...
Miyako Koda half of A Dip In The Pool.

Nelories - INDIE POP CAR BABY
Nelories - PLASTICKY
Nelories - MELLOW YELLOW FELLOW NELORIES
Nelories - BANAN

Nelories/Nelories/Nelories
On my way to completeism - These releases run the gamut from indie japGirlPop to peculiar acoustic pastiche
Always charming, never boring. Shonen Knife and P5 are NOT the end-all of charming indie Japan
Maybe someone stateside besides John Flansburg (SP?) will take notice - We can hope.

Lisa Carbon - Trio De Janeiro
Having heard a prior recording released statside by Instinct (I think) I was ambivilant about this purchase, but it's presence on Hosono's Daisyworld label tempted me. And gladly so. this is not paint-by-numbers techno, but rather a lush journey into fusion (in the best sense) of afro/brazillian/electronic soul. The organ harkens to Agarth era Mile, the Brazillian rhythms sizzle, and the squonks and bleeps delight.
So far I cannot go wrong on Daisyworld.

Arto Lindsay - Noon Chill
Gut For Life - Japan

Now available stateside with some of the bonus tracks from the Japanese ReEntry EP
EThe end of the trilogy and the noisefest on the final bonus track portends a change in direction
The trilogy (The Subtle Body, Mundo Civilazado, Noon Chill) complete with this release, it is a suitable bookend for Mundo Civilazado.
