IN WORDS

In words, we write our lifetimes,
etchings of our art.
Words are a writer's lifeline,
expressions of our hearts.

A soldier's dream of yesteryear,
haunting memories of war,
can bring forth a flood of tears,
and leave the reader wanting more.

A cowboy's tale of days gone by,
mere survival was a test.
Where sometimes good guys finished last,
but this was the old west.

Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror,
Mystery, or Humour light.
Stirred within our imaginings,
and fulfill our need to write.

Love spurned, lost, or thrown away,
grown stale, or simply dead.
There seems to be so much to say,
on love, that has not been said.

A lovers dance in moonlight.
Love returned a thousandfold.
An embrace, a kiss, a sigh,
faces of love, as yet untold.

We pen to paper, black on white,
for all the world to see.
Emotions shared in words we write,
our souls can set them free.
