THE DANCE

he wanted to be touched and reached out his arms
she stepped into them not cautious of harm
They danced the dance as lovers will
each greedily supping to have their fill.

When the sunlight faded and again the dance
she sadly noticed there was no more romance.
He called her unreal for believing in such
for when did he promise she could have that much.

Her heart was shattered, filled with pain
She swore she would never do that again
but as time passes, and with her senses alert
can she dance again without getting hurt?

she tried once more and all too soon
felt that romance was once again doomed
There was a trend here she began to see
relationships didn't last long on IRC.

She wondered if it was the absence of touch,
maybe the physical need was just too much.
she knew the emotions were very intense...
was this then why they were soon dispensed

was there such a thing as a lasting love here
would she chance it again, overcoming her fear?
probaly not..she felt it unwise
to accept 'The Dance' now with IRC guys.

most had too many tricks up their sleeves
and she didn't like being deceived.
she wondered why they felt the need to lie
was it all a joke? .. she asked with a sigh

Do some think people are without feelings here
to them is REAL LIFE off somewhere?
or could it be they are the kind of men
that likes to deceive here because they can!

she decided her dancing would end today
there was better music playing along life's way.
for even though this is virtual reality
we're still real people here on IRC!
