THE TASK
By: Tammy J. Harris
aka: sweetjuaniceh
A woman with a taks to perform
The crowd gathers, she does conform
Hearing woeful cries from behind
The pain felt, all made to subside
Not looking away, keeping gaze ahead
The hugs from strangers, nothing said
Hearing the singing voice, low and strong
The time, this place, wishing not to belong
Heads bowed in prayers of sorrow
Rising to a job, never to borrow
Closing her Father's casket lid
A daugher's task, no other's bid
Standing over the fresh mound of earth
She thought about his heavenly work
Glancing around, all others had left
Alone, or so she thought, a promise kept
Remembering Jesus would stand at her side
The sun peeks out, looking to the sky
Seeing the Savior ascend, another with him
Smiling now, a woman's glow from within
The task complete, her Daddy goes on ahead
high above with the Alpha, the Omega, the Beginning,
and the end
