ANGEL OF THE NIGHT

I yearn to cross the depth of the night alone with you cradled in my arms. I will keep time of their passage using only the gentle beating of your warm heart. Savoring each and every moment as if they are my last moments on this earth.
For in the dark refuse of the night there lurks cunning monsters and tender angels. At night when the monsters seek out the lonely, to torment them in their solitude. I will be safe from their malice by the side of a angel, protected by her radiant beauty. In return I will give the angel the warmth of my body and life in defense of her.
I know not where I find these words, or if they are capable of touching your heart. If it comes that they are too dramatic, it is because I have been found by the monsters many times. By day they have hardened me, and by night I only await the dark forms to return.
The thought of you at night keeps the mosters at bay, and my soul warm until the new day.
