STORM
by Salvatore Amico M. Buttaci
Hot-wiring the horizon,
Lightning accelerates skittish clouds
In a breakneck, thundering frenzy
While twin suns on tangerine fire
Crackle in our eyes.
Holding hands on the sofa, we watch
The late-afternoon sky show
Through our backyard window,
Electro-etching one more
Memory in the making.
When I look back at you again,
You are still there.
