Linda Dailey Paulson's Dirty Linen #62 Review

They've been compared to the likes of Pianosaurus, Jonathan Richman, and They Might Be Giants but Ed's Redeeming Qualities is an entirely unique musical entity that defies categorization and description. Much of the music is pop-based, like "Rib Garden" and "Swiss Chard," while "How Come No One's Dancing" is a countryish tune, while "I Will Wait" has a funky calypso groove. There are also lots of songs about chickens and food. The closest to a "serious" song Ed's pulls out is the bluegrass flavored "Drivin' on 9." Ah heck, life's too short to be serious all the time. This little dose of lyrical levity from Ed's Redeeming Qualities is refreshingly fun. I double dare you to listen with a straight face.
