From it's inception, republicans have used the internet as a tool to promote their cause. For a long time unionists stood on the sidelines - however, during 1996 a whole plethora of pro-union websites emerged. On this page we list as many Northern Ireland related sites as we can - with the exception of the websites of those parties promoting terrorism.

Other Political Websites

Democratic Unionist Party: Visit the excellent website of our fellow unionists in the DUP. For those outside Northern Ireland, the DUP is a unionist political party led by Ian Paisley. Their poster site is a must see! You can e-mail Jonathan Robinson, their internet director, at info@dup.org.uk

Social Democratic and Labour Party: The largest pro-nationalist party in Northern Ireland, the SDLP has for many years represented those in the nationalist community who reject the recipe for terror and violence of Sinn Fein. Their most prominent MPs are probably John Hume, their leader and Joe Hendron, MP for West Belfast.

Alliance Party of Northern Ireland: The first political party in Northern Ireland to have a presence on the web, the Alliance Party website contains a whole wealth of information pertaining to Northern Ireland, the peace talks and the NI forum. They are led by John Alderdice.

Unionist Cyber Community: Set up in Spring 1996, the UCC has evolved to become the primary contact point for unionists online from all over the world. If you wish to contact other unionists online then this is the place to go! They are an entirely non-party political organisation but welcome members from any and all constitutional parties in Northern Ireland.

Media Outlets

The Belfast Telegraph: Northern Ireland's most popular website and most widely read newspaper. Updated every day at 3.30pm this is an excellent media resource for those interested in Northern Ireland.

The Irish News: Another good media resource for those interested in Ulster politics.
