Gray's Anatomy

The color black
does not exist in nature.
The book that explains this
is the third from the left
on the bottom shelf.
Our veins are blue
the arteries are red.
Vital organs are red, too,
with some brown and purple in them.
That color we spoke of
goes with anything.
This is because we think it up
in the absence of desire
or its object.
In nature there are no
straight lines, either.
The book that explains this
was loaned to someone
who never returned it.
