Friday Five
1. Do you wear any jewelry? What kind?
| I never wear any jewelry other than my wedding band. That's a picture of
it on the right. Nancy and I have matching wedding bands. Oh, I also usually wear a wristwatch. It's a Timex digital with a stopwatch function. I was in Hawaii in December of '98 and the watch I had quit functioning so I quickly went out and bought this one. Every once in a while it reminds me of being in Honolulu. |

2. How often do you wear it?
I tend to wear my ring most days. I usually take it off when fixing dinner or working out and also at night. (I take my watch off at night as well.)
3. Do you have any piercings? If so, where?
None.
4. Do you have any tattoos? If so, where?
None.
5. What are your plans for the weekend?
My daughter and I have been talking about going to see the new Harry Potter movie and I think my wife will come with us. No specific time set for that. Other than that, I have no plans, although no doubt I will get to spend some time (and money) in a supermarket and will enjoy an hour or two on Sunday morning with coffee and the Sunday paper. If the weather and my left heel cooperate I might try to get in a run on Sunday (Saturday will definitely be too slushy or icy). Might have Sunday dinner at my mother-in-law's house. Will probably spend a couple of hours on work-related stuff.
During December John Scalzi (a published author of non-fiction who also has an online journal) had posted his latest science fiction novel on his webpage, a new chapter each day for eighteen days. An editor from Tor publishing read it and contacted him. He now has a contract for hardcover publication for that book plus a second book! Wow!
