There was a struggling young writer who one day had a humorous little idea for a short story. He tried writing a story around his idea, but it just didn't work. There were too many flaws. He thought and thought and thought, but he just couldn't figure a way around these flaws, he couldn't figure how to write the story so that it would make sense.

First, he would need a dinosaur. This dinosaur would have a large snout. Dinosaurs in general, and this one particularly, would be intelligent. This particular dinosaur would meet a time-traveling human from the far future. He would also help his human friend win the heart of a girl back in the human's own time. Probably by assisting him in writing love letters to her. The humorous part would come at the end of the story, when the human finds out the dinosaur's name. He laughs, and his friend asks, "What's so funny about Tyranno deBergerex?"

But of course, the friends would learn each others' names long before this. There were other stumbling blocks as well, but this was the main one. The only one the poor author couldn't really think of a satisfactory way around.

Suddenly, an idea struck. He was reluctant, but it was his only hope. So he began to write:
