| For a living I work in the Graphic Arts, Print Media, call it what you want, it's all Printing...ink on paper. The only real difference now is that the front end is digital. Which is a good thing, ...almost all of the conventional work done in the past, and to a small extent, still done in backwater shops, well, it sucked.... paid good, sucked anyway. So, now we sit in front of our Macs or our Win95/NT machines or both and grind out the work. We traded conventional solutions for Postscript solutions and there are days when, yes, this sucks too. Just not as much and not as hard. But it did give us frustrated artists some handy tools, most notably...Adobe Photoshop, now up to version 5.0. So over the past ten years or so I have worked in Photoshop, doing conventional halftones, color separations, even taught Photoshop classes for a couple of years, but then that was a while back. But, to the point. I have this hobby, interest, pastime, whatever you call it, of digitally altering photographs. And here are the ones I have done of Mr.Waits. Album Covers.....I am not saying I could have done a better job on these originals, it's just that pushing pixels is fun, and it keeps me off the streets. Random Images.....just what it says, step right up, nothing subtle here. The Original Bunch....these are the first group of Waits images i placed on a now long dead web site. Actually, I think some of the best ones are here. |
