Artichokes Roman Style

12 small Artichokes
1 Lemon, juiced
2 Onions, quartered
2-4 Garlic cloves minced or crushed
1 tsp Marjoram
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1 cup Chicken Broth
Salt & Pepper, to taste

Remove the tough outer leaves of the Artichokes, cut off tops and let them stand in cold water, to which you have added the Lemon juice, for 10 minutes.

Arrange Artichokes around sides of a heavy lidded casserole. Place quartered Onions in the middle, and add remaining ingredients. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
