San Francisco Restaurants
The Cliff House
Great food, (Upstairs has the best omelettes in town!), a great bar, (their Bloody Marys are THE best), and, in good weather, a great view of the Pacific and Ocean Beach.

EOS Restaurant & Wine Bar
Innovative menu and excellent presentation make this one a must. Could be a little upscale Nouvelle for some.

Gaylords India
The first time I tried Indian cuisine was at Gaylord's, and I fell in love, (with the food and the lovely I was with, too...!). Tandoori to die for!

Scott's Seafood Restaurant
Okay, it's a chain, but the seafood is generally very good. I like their Grilled Tuna, Grilled Swordfish, and, when it's on the menu, their Grilled Shark. (See a pattern?)

Sol y Luna
Tapas, tapas, and more tapas. But the rest of the menu is excellent, also. Great decor, friendly service and superb execution make this one a classic.

Vesuvio Cafe
Ah, the history! Ah, the atmosphere! Reflect on the days past of North Beach's Beat Poets while you savor a pint of Anchor Steam. Poetry readings on a regular basis is a big draw.

THE BEST Chinese restaurant in S.F. If you like it hot & spicey Henry's Hunan is the place. Onion Cakes, Hot & Sour Beef, Harvest Pork, and Chinese Chicken Salad are my favorites.

Marnee Thai
2225 Irving St.
Fabulous! Try the Green Curry Prawns, Smoked Duck and Fried Bananas. The BEST Thai!

Straits Cafe - Singaporean Restaurant
3300 Geary Blvd.
Asian fare with a difference. Try the Roti Prata, (grilled Indian bread with a curry dipping sauce), Udang Pedas, (curried prawns Southern Indian-style), and the Braised Lamb Korma, (lamb shanks with tomato and cardmon in a white curry).

Jessie's
1256 Folsom St.
Cajun-Creole-Caribbean
The jambalaya is to die for! As is the blackened filet Lafayette. For starters, try the crab cakes and BBQ shrimp.

House of Prime Rib
1906 Van Ness Ave.
They carve the prime rib right there at your table! The side dishes are great, too; especially the creamed spinach and the house salad. Excellent service, great wine selection and a full bar.

Just Like Home

Lebonese & Mediterranean food
The best babaghanouj in town! The filafal and shwarma are great, too. Try the vegetarian platter and feel like you'll never eat again, (it's that good and that filling!).
