Moonchild

by G. S. Reis

When the night falls
and a full moon's high,
the banshees fly,
your howling calls.

So I follow
the whining cry.
From the dark you spy
into my heart's hollow.

I am not afraid,
I don't know why.
The wolf skin you pry
to reveal a maid.

Your eyes are set in fire
as you come, smooth and sly.
Savage beauty makes me sigh
drowned in desire.

In your arms I eagerly mesh.
Untamed pleasure we try
until our bodies lie
in each other's flesh.

But you leave in fear,
for soon the night will die.
Under a dawning sky,
the wolves tear.
