Now, with the aid of the so-called time capsule (dark portal), their leader, Barlius, hopes to change the situation. The Saurions had powerful war machines that once slaughtered the humans, but Barlius' men managed to steal their fuel reserves, and the useless machines were kept in Sazmar, a citadel defended by robots (skeletons) and automated weapons. If the time capsule may advance a little into the future and materialize inside the fortress, and its three-man crew manages to take on the control room, most defenses may be deactivated or even be used against their constructors, opening the way for the human army to conquer Sazmar. Raul dreams of discovering the secrets of Saurion technology and using it to build more war machines, hospitals (churches) and research centers (mage towers) to create new weapons.
New allies will be valuable. Truam, Barlius' loyal first officer, strongly recommends to contact Manitaule, a former officer of the Saurion army who has rebelled against the tyranny of Hayark, a living god and ruler of the planet. Now he lives in exile on the volcanic lands of Vulcanar with his followers.
There is also the Primitive, a sub-race resulted from unsuccessful genetic experiments conducted by the Saurions on humans. Living in far forests, they will not be brought to fight unless they have proper places to breed the mutant beasts they like to ride.
At the end of the long road, Dolbam, the Saurion capital, and the Temple of Hayark will eventually fall. But first, Sazmar must be taken. Raul, Romulo and native warrior Aricles leave the time capsule in the middle of a small stable inside the citadel. Raul manages to get a horse, while Romulo prepares his bow and Aricles draws his sword, hoping the frightened horses have not alarmed too many guards.
Meanwhile, Barlius conducts his army to the rocky
plains that surround Sazmar, leaving Red Valley unprotected in the hands
of children, old men and the sick ones, unaware of the fact that the location
of their hiding place is no longer a secret. Centurion Vert, a cyborg known
for his cruelty, leads the Saurion elite troops to the final onslaught.
