I recently received an essay that I personally
felt was good, if not in literary quality, simply in that it
expresses a feeling I really connected to. If you are a
"Child of the Eighties" like myself, then you
will probably enjoy it also.
I have written mostly poetry, but occasionally I'll write an editorial of sorts. This one is about my slightly cynical views of America, entitled Statue of Liberty. (Written: 10-15-96)
Soup is a poem I wrote after waking up from a very bizarre dream, in which I was listening to the radio, and a song was on. I woke up and wrote out the lyrics, and what resulted was this poem. (Written: 2-??-95)
At the beginning of last year (1995), around September, the inspiration for SP came about. I don't particularly love it, and my personal opinion of it isn't high, but I'm posting it anyway. (Written: 9-16-95)
Forgiveness is a speech I wrote to give at a Youth Mass at my church, St. Mary's in Chelmsford, MA. It's a sermon on Matthew 18:21-35. Many people told me it was inspiring, and I hope that it can continue to be. Perhaps for you, perhaps for a friend. Feel free to forward it, but please give credit where due. (Written: 9-11-96)
Life is a Book is an extended metaphor. I literally felt it and at one time, it seemed that this metaphor was almost reality, and it is one of my personal favorites, as a symbol that keeps me going. (Written: 11-21-95)
I will tell you now, I am a devout Roman Catholic, and by no means is Electric Church meant to be pagan or anarchist or any other non-Catholic denomination, nor is it even supposed to be religious. Jimi Hendrix once mentioned how his music was like an electric church, and Electric Ladyland was part of this same thought. I took that quote, and turned it into a song. The music has long since been forgotten, but the lyrics remain. If I ever find the music I wrote, it will be a miracle. (Written: 12-12-95)
A poem that I wrote in 8th grade, along with a large part of my stuff, is Confused, a fairly lame poem that is reminiscent of Black Hole Sun in its lack of meaning and format of simple strung words. (Written: 1-9-95)
This essay doesn't really belong on a page of poems, but I wrote it out of my own experience as an "ADD'er"- someone with Attention Deficit Disorder- to inspire and hopefully help others.
Some humor! This is a cute forward that I got a while back, and it's a definite "Triple F". It's a list of "E-Viruses" with their definitions. (Triple F means: "Feel Free to Forward.")
