At the conclusion of the session each of the participants was given an evaluation sheet which asked general questions about the workshop and encouraged them to comment on their experience. These were the responses.
ÒI havenÕt thought of myself this way for a long time. I feel more in touch with myself and more willing to like what I find. The Toni Morrison reading was good with what we were doing. The idea of claiming those parts of ouyrselves we have been taught are bad and learning to love them.Ó
ÒI felt very comfortable. So comfortable in fact that I wanted to run around naked, but, you know, the camera was there...Ó
ÒI enjoyed the freedom and learning atmosphere and meeting new people and sculpting a cat. I learned that I need to loosen up and lose my inhibitions and dance- because IÕve always wanted to.Ó
ÒThis was a good experience, but I wish more dancers had attended and more people in general. It can serve to relieve stredss and to educate people about their bodies and feelings towards their bodies.Ó
ÒI learned that I can be free with my body, though I am a typical disconnected American, I would be interested in learning more about creative arts therapy.Ó
ÒI was very uncomfortable moving but I felt proud that I took risks and danced.Ó
ÒI enjoyed this time very much...it was relaxing And fun. I felt better physically afterwards than I have in a very long time. I feel relaxed and grounded and happy. This is a good form of therapy.Ó
ÒThe atmosphere was very open and unashamed. Poeple interacted very well and were willing to participate.Ó
ÒVery informative- relaxed and fun; not trying to be preachy so much as self exploring.Ó
ÒI was only acquainted with one person who came to this workshop but afterwards I feel closer to her and to everyone involved.Ó
ÒI was interesting in exploring the mind-body connection as opposed to separation and enjoyed exploring different modes of expression.Ó
