GENERAL GOALS OF THE ENGINEERING SCHOOL
The School academic programs are designed to achieve the following major goals:
To provide excellent University & Engineering education for all qualified students,
challenging and stimulating them at the lower division level and preparing them to choose a
major field in the upper division, leading to selection of a profession or occupation or further
study at graduate level.
To generate new engineering knowledge through a vigorous and ambitious commitment to
research in all engineering academic disciplines and to encourage creativity by fostering an
atmosphere conductive to the expression of ideas, development, and communication with the
external community.
To serve the external community taking into account the needs and interests of the society
and the demands of marketplace. In view of the current rapid changes in the above aspects,
flexibility in programs and accommodation in career objectives is highly important.
To foster greater global understanding as a major center of engineering education for the
people of the Arabic and Islamic world and the International Community.
