Alone, crying in the dark.

He kissed away her tears,

Finding underneath them the

Secret part she called

Herself.

He held her while she healed,

He nourished her while she grew.

He pushed her to believe in

Herself.

When he thrust her away she became

Frightened, and wanted to cry again.

Then she remembered his words,

Finally understanding.

She went on, always carrying

Part of him with her.

For when he discovered and treasured

Herself,
