The circle's inside just under the breastbone I will make of it a small humanity The circle's not filled with rational wisdoms or intellectual images not hard or brittle like bird bones strung on string to catch the sun, nor shaped into the jawbone of an ass the hip bone of a whale or monkey not even an Adam's rib Nor is it pounded hard-forced into a star or sister moon does not ask to be filled like a plate or bowl and its face simply refuses to be painted, yet the circle is complete admits no one. |
