WHO IS KEITH ANTHONISZ?

Keith Anthonisz is a musician and composer from Perth, Western Australia of Dutch/Sri Lankan ancestry, who has been performing since the mid 1980s and has been a prolific songwriter inspired by visits to foreign lands and cultures. His involvement in bands has included work with John Mc Nair in Open Wound, a post punk outfit in 1985 and the band Doom Ensemble in 1995 which released the Northbridge The Tunnel CD. He was also active in the band Winter which originated in 1996 and has recorded two CD's. Winter recording wise, released the CD Introspection in 1998 and finished a second CD called Y in 2000 which was released at the Bridgetown Blues Festival in 2001. Video footage of the performance at the Blues at Bridgetown Festival was streamed on the internet and included the song Elixer of Life.

Keiths current focus is on Three Wise Monkeys, formed in 2000, which has had regular performances at festivals and pubs and also community music events such as the Buskers Club begun in March 2000. Keith and Three Wise Monkeys have also been promoting Three Wise Monkeys CD's and videos. Promised Land and a video produced by Julie Williams for the song 'Angels of Luck' was launched by Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys at the Oxford Hotel in Leederville on Thursday, 15th July 2004. A CD entitled the Indian Holiday Album and a video for the song 'Neighbourhood of Earth' was launched by Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys in 2002. Both Promised Land and The Indian Holiday Album CD's received favourable reviews and gained airplay on 2MCE-FM in Bathurst, New South Wales, 2RRR FM in Sydney, 2 SRB Rim FM Brisbane, 720 ABC Radio, and 93.5 Red FM in Mumbai, India. The songs 'Footprints in the Sand', 'Neighbourhood of Earth' and 'In Her Garden' from these albums hit number one on the ISON ILR Aussie charts for the Australian Real Underground Music Show in 2003 and 2005. The charts are based on client radiostation feedback from around the world. Stations include in the USA, WLR 105FM - Lansing, Michigan, KPMW 105FM - Maui, Hawaii, KPRT 91.9FM - Richmond, Kentucky, KISSFM 103.5FM - Springhill, Tennessee, IMAGINEFM (network) 100.1FM - Bakersfield, California, IMAGINEFM (network) 99.3FM - Boulder, Colorado, 103.7FM - Canadaigua, New York and WKLY FM 88.5 - Decatur, Alabama. In England, radio stations include Radio Argus 87.7FM - London, Radio Argus shortwave - Europe, BCRFM - Somerset, Radio PYF - Monmouthshire and Outlaw FM - North Yorkshire. In Europe, the Australian Real Underground Music Show is broadcast by Radio Madeira - Madeira Island, Portugal. Song videos have been played on ABC televisions Rage as well as Channel 31's Ball and All and Warp Factory TV. Keith is also keen on involvement with festivals as is evident by his solo performance at the Festival Club at the Tollwood Festival in Munich, Germany in June 2001 and his performance at the Blues at Bridgetown Festival in November 2001, 2002 and 2003 and the Nannup Festival and Moondyne Joe Festival in Toodyay in 2003 and 2005. Keith and Three Wise Monkeys sound has been influenced by rythm and blues, pop music from the sixties, indian music, country and funk to give the music an eclectic feel.

WHO ARE THREE WISE MONKEYS?

Keith Anthonisz sings and plays acoustic guitar and is supported by Three Wise Monkeys who are Russell Hughes on drums, Andy Wieczorek on electric guitar and Richard Poole on bass, with an assortment of special guest musicians including Howard Shawcross who are on a similar wavelength to Three Wise Monkeys music!

Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys have kept the music fresh and fluid in keeping with the bands approach to having a good time playing while enjoying an easy interaction with audiences from the 'burbs'and beyond in support of encouraging community appreciation of live music. The band members have had many years of experience performing with other acts and use this experience to deliver choice rock, motown and rhythm and blues for the discerning listener.

PERFORMANCES

Keith Anthonisz is playing solo acoustic guitar at the Darlington Winery, 1495 Nelson Road in Darlington on Sunday 8th March from 4.30pm onwards for an afternoon session. Keith previously played at the Darlington Estate Winery on 11th January. Keith was also solo at the Swan Hotel on November 27th 2008 and at the Broken Hill Hotel on November 9th 2008. Keith Anthonisz and the Three Wise Monkeys have played at the Toodyay Folk Festival on Sunday 23rd November, 2008. They were previously at the Swan Hotel in North Fremantle, on September 25th and August 28th with David Minder, Paul Mc Carthy & Henk Langendoen. They were also at the Glen Forrest Folk, Blues and Roots concert on August 10th, 2008 at the Glen Forrest Hall , Marnie Road, Glen Forrest with Djangle, Doris and John Ralph and special guests. Keith and Three Wise Monkeys also performed with Vinyl Sea at the Swan Lounge, Swan Hotel, 201 Queen Victoria Street, North Fremantle on Thursday 26th June, 2008. Previously, Keith Anthonisz and the Three Wise Monkeys were in acoustic mode at the Mount Lawley Folk, Blues and Rootsshow at the Velvet Lounge, 639 Beaufort Street from 2.30 to 6.30pm on Sunday afternoon, February 10th, 2008. The band in the recent past has played at the Oxford Hotel on Thursday 30th August 2007 with Vinyl Sea and Dean Anthonisz of Mile End fame and also performed at the Perth Blues Club, Charles Hotel, 509 Charles Street on Tuesday 17th July following up on their previous performance on Tuesday 10th October. Keith Anthonisz and the Three Wise Monkeys played at the Oxford Hotel on Thursday 28th September and Keith also played acoustic guitar with Steve Tallis at the Swan Hotel in North Fremantle on Wednesday night, September 13th and 27th. Keith also played as a guest artist for the Steve Tallis CD launch of Jezebel Spirit on the River Boat Gambler,Sunday 21st May, on a sundowner trip on the Swan River in Perth. Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys played at the Indi Bar on Saturday, 25th February and at the Perth Blues Club on Tuesday January 17th with the Bondi Cigars. The bands other performances have included a Christmas show at the Waters Edge Winery on Friday 23rd December and the Oxford Hotel, in Leederville on Thursday, 20th October 2005. Previously, Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys played at Kulcha in Fremantle with Mathew Dela Hunty, previously of Tall Tales and True fame, on Friday 8th April. The band also played at the annual Nannup Festival for performances on the weekend for the 5th and 6th of March. Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys recent performances have included the Oxford Hotel on February 10th and the Kulcha Asia Tsunami Benefit performance with musicians from Sri Lanka, India and Indonesia on Friday 4th February, Keith Anthonisz playing solo at the Sweet Java Restaurant, Mount Lawley on Friday 21st January and with the Three Wise Monkeys at the Old Swan Brewery in Perth on the Swan River, Thursday 16th December. The band performed at the Oxford Hotel in Leederville on Thursday night, 11th November with Leigh Salter, Megan Harvey and Marcia Flude. Holidays in Bali and Broome (and a little playing with Bali musicians) took up most of September after a band performance at the Oxford on 26th August. The band launched a new CD and video for the latest album, Promised Land and a video clip for the song, 'Angels of Luck' at the Oxford Hotel on Thursday, 15th July and performed with ballerina Chloe Trumpeter during the Putting on an Act Festival at the Perth Institute of Performing Arts on Wednesday 21st July. The band has been focused on the album Promised Land and the accompanying film clip as well as recording 'Spring in Western Australia' for the 175th Anniversary of WA song competition and this has taken priority over live performance over 2004. The band finished playing on the Channel 31 TV show, 'Moose Goes Live' as a show band of this TV progam with former bass man Harlee Dave. Appearances by the band over the last twelve months have included the Junction Hotel, the Waikiki Hotel in Safety Bay, Ettamogah in Morley and the Osborne Park Hotel and the opening of an exhibition at Greg James Sculpture Studio Gallery, Unit 2, J Shed, in Fremantle as a part of the Fremantle Festival. Keith and Three Wise Monkeys were also down South for a performance at the Brunswick Junction Tavern and have also played at the Toodyay Races, the Noble Falls Tavern, the Davilak Tavern in Fremantle on Friday nights, the Carlisle Hotel on Friday nights and at La Bog in Fremantle on Sunday nights.
