 Etti Ankri is one of my
favorite singers ever. She has the voice, the songs, the style and a great technique. To
me, her second album, "Karata li Esther" (You used to call me
Esther) is one of the greatest Israeli albums released in the 90's. The quality of
her musical and vocal arrangements is outstanding. Her first album contained the huge hit "Ani
roa leha baeynayim" (I'm looking in your eyes) and other great songs; this
album was the mosst rocky thing that she ever did. Her last album was expected two years
ago, but finally only came out at the end of last year. It is a very good album, but I
felt a little disappointed by some of the songs (although how could it compete with the
second album which is a perfect gem?). Etti Ankri recorded a few children songs and did a
few collaborations with other artists. Etti is also a great actress and starred in
different Israeli movies. She writes her own music and lyrics: Etti Ankri is truly gifted
and anyone who has some taste for quality will fall for her!!! |
