(Alexander climbing the walls to Elinor’s balcony at night.)
Alex: Elinor! Sweet Elinor can you hear me! (he whispers loudly)
Elinor: Alexander you came? What if they see you?
Alex: Let them. Let me proclaim to the world that I love sweet sweet Elinor!
Elinor: You sing my name so beautifully (She reaches for him to pull him over)
Alex: Because it is so beautiful to sing of
Elinor: My heart melts with your romantic verses. ( He kisses her forehead and then her lips. They end up in the bedroom.)
Elinor: Do you love me Alexander?
Alex: Of course
Elinor: Do you really love me?
Alex: Yes yes.
Elinor: Then leave her Alex. Run away with me.
Alex: I wish we could but I am binded by duty.
Elinor: Is duty so important? (she pauses) Is she beautiful Alex or ugly like all the other woman binded by duty. (he laughs)
Elinor: What is so funny?
Alex: She asks the same question.
Elinor: And what do you tell her?
Alex: That you are the most beautiful woman in the world.
Elinor: I knew you loved me Alexander. Don’t leave. Stay here with me.
