The focal point of the Scarab Club lounge is its fireplace with a mural by artist Paul Honore depicting the tree of life and many  aspects of Club membership and their art.

The sketch class meets four times a week and is open to non-members for a fee

Among the varied activities sponsored by the Club is the Detroit Blues Society's series of concerts.
