Kaspar Vopalensky

A lot of Vopalenskys live in Dusjeov today. Kaspar Vopalensky and his wife Maria had two sons -- Jan, who came to America, and Vaclav, b. in 1854 and d. in 1935. Valcav remained in Dujeov and married Petronilou Kochrdovu (b. 1866, d. 1941)

To trace the Vopalensky roots back even further, Kaspar's parents were Josef (b. 1764, d. 1846) and Veronikou Kotenovou ( b. 1767, d. 1815). This is thier family line:

Vaclav Vopalensky (b.d. unknown)

Josef Vopalensky (b. 1787, d. unknown)

Jan Vopalensky (b. 1793, d. unknown)

Jakub Vopalensky (b. 1799, d. 1882)

Martin Vopalensky (b.d., d.d. unknown)

KASPAR Vopalensky (b.d, d.d. unknown)

A lot of names run in the Vopalensky family, Josefa and Jan in Czech, and in English there seem to be a lot of James' and Josephs and Johns in the line!

So while Kaspar and his son Vaclav stayed in Dusejov, Jan traveled halfway across the world. There haven't been any more records found to indicate that Kaspar had more than the two sons.

Susan Chapman had the fortunate experience of visiting Dusejov in the summer of 1998. Hopefully soon I can place some of her stories and experiences here!
