Part Five

We did it again. I'm pregnant. You'd think that since we're married it would be easier on us, but it's not. We're only 20 and we still have another year of college. I remember the day I told Taylor.

It was August 4, 2003. I was laying on our bed with my face buried in a pillow when Taylor came home from classes.

"Lexi, what's wrong?" he asked me.

"Twice Taylor, and we were so careful the last time."

His face dropped and he sat down on our bed next to me and pulled me into his arms. He calmed me down and just held me for hours. He was still holding me when his mother came down to get us for dinner. She saw the tear stains on my face and our red, puffy eyes. She instantly stopped singing and sat down on the end of our bed. She asked us what was wrong. Tears started rolling down my cheeks. Taylor looked up at his mother.

"We were so careful mom," he whispered.

"Careful? Taylor, what are you talking about?" He looked down and squeezed my hand.

"Nothing mom, let's just go eat."

She nodded and went upstairs. Taylor wiped away my tears and we followed his mom. After dinner Taylor and I went back downstairs and after they had cleaned up from dinner his parents came down to find out what was wrong.

"Taylor, Alexis, what's wrong kids?" his father asked.

I started to cry again. Taylor squeezed my hand and looked down at the bedspread.

"Kids?" his mom asked softly.

"We did it again. It was an accident, I swear."

"Taylor," his mom said, "calm down, take a deep breath and start over."

"Mom, Dad, Lexi's pregnant, again."

"Oh, kids..." his mother trailed off softly.

"We were so careful, I don't know how this happened," he whispered as he squeezed my hand again.

"Accidents happen Taylor," his father said.

"Don't worry kids, we'll help you," his mom assured us, pulling us into a hug.

She kissed us on the cheeks and they went back upstairs. A few minutes later Daisy came running down the stairs. She pulled herself up onto our bed and wrapped her arms around Taylor. She kissed him and then did the same to me.

"I love you Mommy, I love you Daddy," she said.

"We love you too, Sweetie," Taylor said.

Daisy smiled and ran back up the stairs.

"It's going to be okay Lexi, everything's going to be okay."

I smiled, "Yup, everything's going to be okay."

After we put Daisy to bed we got into bed too. Taylor leaned over and rested his head on my stomach.

"Hey little one, I'm your Daddy."

He kissed my stomach, and then me before turning out the lights.

"I love you Mr. Hanson."

"I love you too Mrs. Hanson."

He rolled back over and kissed me again before pulling me into his arms .

That was 4 months ago. It's almost Christmas, just after Daisy's 4th birthday. Taylor and I have been thinking of names, but haven't really come up with any we really like. We probably won't decide until the baby is born, in May.=0ADaisy loves the idea of being a big sister. She said we should name the baby Rachel Marie, after her favorite Cabbage Patch doll. We told her we'd consider it. The best thing I've found out is that if the baby is born on time I'll still be able to make it to my graduation in June.
