Transformation

An upheaval in everything I thought I knew
A disruption from what had become the norm
The dull drum life that I grew accustomed to
Beginning to take on a whole new form

Time spent in a smoke filled haze
Fading further in the past
A new dawning in my ways
Left to wonder if it will last

The brightness comes but when it fades
Ever a return to that cloud of old
Just to hope this time it stays
And things remain in this new mold

To keep the joy and chase the fear
And end this solitude
To continue to hold near
All that blooms anew
