This is Genma Saotome, Ramna's dad.  When he fell into a cursed spring, he fell into one that turns him into a giant panda!  It suits him though, and he spends more time as a panda than as a human now.  Genma and Akane's father, Soun Tendo, trained under the same master and plan to unite their shools of martial arts through the marriage of their children, Rans and Akane.  He is a very emotional man.
