With tales of legends whose valor is told
Stood a mighty warrior of dignity and grace
With the sun at his back – a smile on his face.
Did steal a glance at the cheering crowd
And mount his steed that roared out loud
One thousand horses above the wheels
A jolt of thunder in a body of steel.
Many marvel and heralded his checkered past
Old number three – a vision to last
One hundred challengers stood at the line
The old eliminator casually took his time.
Amongst the challengers sit a fair-head lad
Who honored the warrior and called him dad
One lone white flag drew a rage of thunder
From mounds of steel and visions of wonder.
The imagery of colors did dance in light
Then blur in motion and zoom from sight
Around the course with laps to steal
A race to win and seal the deal.
One final lap and turn to make
The mighty warrior would seize his fate
With heavenly honor bestowed from a nod
Raced the legend of man into the arms of God.
