Starry Beacons
Starry Beacons of the night
Guide us on our way
Steer us to our distant ports
Until the break of day
Star Gazing
How often do I stare
Up at the sky and tremble?
To gaze upon a shining night fair
Oh, what a wondrous sight!
Lofting down to our watchful eyes
Are shafts of light from the sky
Scattered across that blacky ink
And to the dreamers' lands are nigh
Gleaming brightly through white haze
Giving light when there is none
Lasting ever beyond the end of days
Shining thought the black of night
Oh, how often do I stare
Up to those starry beams?
Oh, if it weren't for the stars,
How ever could I dream?
