MOONLIGHT ROMANCE

I want some time with you tonight
Beneath the bright summer moonlight,
Being alone with you again,
I'll smell the seasoned fragrance when
The laughter and gaiety'll have passed,
Which makes me think of the reasons,
It's the best of all occasions.
Spending the night with you opens
My mind to the noble silence;
It gives me the courage to face
Onerous struggles and the race
Of keeping up with daily life,
Of going beyond material strife;
It increases the sentiments
To what are life's embodiments,
To peace, to what it innocent;
Then, each time as I go to sleep,
I know my heart is yours to keep.
