Welcome to my Camping Scrapbook!!
8.23.99 #2 (supplemental)
I haven't been camping in a very long time. I have lots of fond, little-girl memories of our family and church campouts while I was growing up. I really miss it. When Pavel suggested that we go, I was very eager and very excited to do it again.
We went to Port Crescent, located in the "thumb area" of Michigan. I had never been anywhere in the thumb, so it was totally new to me. We drove about three hours, and I even took the wheel for about a half-hour. That was kinda scary, because I'm still learning and I wasn't used to such high speeds.
We got a bit turned around but finally made it. We settled into Site #8, and pitched our tent. Then the fun began...the scenery over there is just beautiful! I was in complete awe. I took along my old Argus (a 50-yr.-old camera) and started snapping pictures right away...it was my first time using it and there were some glitches, but, the resulting pictures were beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I'm not hugely into scene photography but I'm very glad I took these pictures...and, Pavel and I wanted tangible documentation of our first camping trip together. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.
This pic was taken from inside the trails.
It was meant to be a wide view of the beach area.
I was just fooling around..wanted to have a record of us being there.
We decided to lay out on the sand, and Pavel almost fell asleep!
This was actually an accident, but it looks cool. :)
Pavel and the tent.
We just had to get our feet wet...just our feet.
Pavel enjoying the waves....
I saved the best for last...this was taken in broad daylight...but you wouldn't know it. This is my personal favorite. :)
