CERAMIC TILES
and
WATERCOLORS

Recent Paintings

Karen Lynn is both a watercolor and ceramic tile artist who lives in Warrenton, Virginia. She specializes in painting home portraits, town and cityscapes in her watercolors and tiles, including a varied potpourri of designs in her ceramic tiles.

Karen Lynn uses a tin glaze medium for her ceramic tiles, inspired by  the Italian majolica technique and the Dutch and English 'Delftware' of the 19th century. The pigments are painted over the freshly applied and unfired glaze which then become fused into the glaze in the subsequent firing.

Each tile is carefully handpainted, making them unique and one-of-a-kind. They have many uses ranging from decorative accent wall tiles in bathrooms, kitchens or around fireplace mantels; or they may be framed and displayed as a work of art. They make excellent gifts and their uses are many. Since they are fired at a high temperature in a pottery kiln, they are durable and may be applied to any surface suitable for ceramic tiling. The glazes and pigments used are completely safe and free of lead or other contaminants.

I often eat lunch at this restaurant, 20 minutes from my home. It is one of my favorite restaurants.
