This happy family group are- from left to right. Grandson Jody, daughter Heather and her husband Blair, grandaughters Tracy and Jaime-Lyn. and of course Misty the dog.
When Heather was six years old she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. We were devastated but decided that we would do everything possible to ensure that she enjoyed what time she had. I contacted a group of parents and invited them to send their children here to have fun and go on supervized outings.
We organized a club which we named 'Busy Bees' and soon had around 15 children enrolled.
It was then I acquired the Title of 'Queen Bee'
The children had a great time, making simple crafts, baking cookies, and playing games. We visited parks, had picnics on the beach and toured 'Green Gables' famous setting for L.M.Montgomery's,"Anne of Green Gables'
We took Heather to one of Oral Roberts Crusades. then to a famous children's hospital in Montreal, where she was started on a new treatment.
Whether it was the prayers- the treatment or a combination of both, a miracle happened, or so it seemed to us-Heather was cured!
Thank you Skerr for this very special award
